Thank you to every official parade participant for helping make this year's celebration vibrant, festive, and unforgettable.

Our first-place parade winner, Ka Pi'o O Ke Anuenue, beautifully captured the spirit of this year's theme:

The Ashland Parade theme this year was “Creating Our Future Together”. The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of it’s members. Laulima is a phrase that means “Many Hands” but like many nā hua ‘ōlelo it can be interpreted is many ways such as; cooperation, joint action, and to work together. For us, Laulima is how we create our future together!
The story of the Paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) is a remarkable mo’olelo of cultural exchange that predates the mainland American cowboy. It began in the early 19th century when King Kamehameha III invited expert Mexican vaqueros from California to the islands to tame feral cattle. Native Hawaiians quickly learned these ranching skills, ultimately creating their own unique cowboy traditions. A beautiful example of Laulima in action.
Deepest gratitude to Kumu and our Alaka'i for their tireless efforts and invaluable guidance. Our sincere appreciation extends to our dedicated haumana for their many hours of practice, including those not performing this year. A massive thank you to the Ashland Chamber of Commerce for their hospitality! Congratulations to all the Paniolo, Paniola's and Pipi!"🤠🐴🐮🤙🏽🌺
