4th of July – Parade Application

Why participate in the parade?

You will get to be a part of the beloved annual tradition of the 4th of July Parade - Celebrated for over 100 years.  You will feel the excitement of the crowd as you show off your entry to 20,000 spectators on the 1 mile route.  It's even broadcasted so that people can view from a far.  What a great way to celebrate the community, show off your organization and your creativity.

 

Plus - there are cash prizes for the best entries, and new this year, we will be having the community vote for their favorite!

General Parade Information:

  • Read through RULES & REGULATIONS and all Parade Information before submitting your application.
  • Important Notes:
    • Vehicle/Float max - 40' L X 13.5' H
    • Walking Entry max - 40' L
    • Animals Entries- must provide insurance
    • Application requires an entry description written in 3rd person for Announcer. 280 characters max.
  • Application Process:

    • Initial Approval
    • Final Confirmation Packet

Parade Prizes:

  • We are awarding CASH PRIZES voted on by our Official Parade Judges!
    • 1st Place  $300
    • 2nd Place $200
    • 3rd Place  $100

  • Bring on the FLOATS!!! We are looking for lots of fun, creative floats. Start thinking about how you can your design to honor this year's theme.

Parade Route & Timeline:

Parade Route - 1 Mile: Begins:  Triangle Park - heads down Main St. towards the Plaza. Ends: Water St.

  • 6:30 AM - Entries may arrive at the staging area. (Most at SOU parking lot on Mountain St.)
  • 8:00 AM - Judging begins
  • 8:45 AM - Entry must fully be present at staging area
  • 9:30 AM - Parade Begins
  • 11:00 AM - Parade Typically Ends

    • Staging Details
    • Parade Map
    • Link to Street Closures
    • Any applicable supplemental information

Parade Entry Type, Fee & Deadlines:

  • Ashland Chamber Rates:
    • $100 Early Bird - valid: 5/1-5/31
    • $125 Regular - valid: 6/1 - 6/14
    • $175 Late Fee - valid: 6/15 - 6/21
  • Non-Member Rates:
    • $150 Early Bird - valid: 5/1-5/31
    • $175 Regular - valid: 6/1 - 6/14
    • $225 Late Fee - valid: 6/15 - 6/21
  • Non-Profit Subsidy Rate*:
    • $50 Early Bird - valid: 5/1-5/31
    • $75 Regular - valid: 6/1 - 6/14
    • $125 Late Fee - valid: 6/15 - 6/21

*To qualify for the subsidy rate you must be a Non-Profit organization AND your entry must feature one of the following:  Band (5 or more people playing instruments) or Children (10 or more under the ages of 17 years old)
