The Ashland Senior Services Division enhances the lives of seniors by promoting healthy aging, well-being, dignity and independence and by advocating for the diverse needs of seniors and their families throughout Ashland. The Division offers a variety of free or low-cost recreational, health promotion, and educational opportunities at the Ashland Senior Center and other locations. Services include information and referral; a discount on City of Ashland utilities or internet for income-eligible residents; free passes for the bus, Ashland Connector, or Valley Lift; and Medicare insurance counseling. Activities include yoga, tai chi, line dancing, discussion group, art classes, computer instruction, game groups, and free seminars on topics of interest to older adults. In addition, the Rogue Valley Council of Governments Food and Friends Program serves weekday lunch at the Senior Center and delivers meals to homebound seniors.
The Ashland Senior Center is located in Hunter Park at 1699 Homes Avenue and is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm. Ashland Senior Services is a division of Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission.
