Workshop Partnership with Ashland Fire & Rescue and
the City of Ashland

The purpose of the workshop was to help guide business owners to better prepare for smoke impacts to their business. Given how negatively our Community was impacted by the smoke from the fires of last summer, we realized we needed to research and provide more information for businesses to plan ahead for possible smoke impacts to their building, employees and customers in the future.

Speakers addressed:

  • Why and how to prepare your business to lessen the impacts of smoke
  • Sources and outlook for smoke
  • Smoke and your health - what to do to protect yourself, your employees and your customers
  • Resources and recommended equipment to improve your business
  • How to get accurate information that is timely and helpful
  • Basic steps to make necessary changes - how to take action now before smoke arrives

Presenters and Partners:

  • Ashland Chamber of Commerce
  • City of Ashland
  • Ashland Fire & Rescue
  • Fire Learning Network - The Nature Conservancy
  • United States Forest Service
  • Asante Ashland Community Hospital
