The Nature Photography Classes Winter Speaker series are online webinars that will take place between January 16 and February 27, 2023. They will focus on techniques for developing images in four online sessions featuring the following instructors:

The Royal Photographic Society is providing this three-part series free to its members and very generously making it available to non-members for just $6.

New Photo Tour: Lofoten In Winter 2024!

Would you like to photograph the northern lights with me in Norway next year?

I am excited to be teaming up with the outstanding photographer and trip leader, Dr. Kah-Wai Lin on this dream tour of Lofoten, Norway, one of my favorite places on Earth.

Kah-Wai is a well-known photographer and educator who has organized and led hundreds of photo tours and workshops throughout the world.

During the tour, our main focus will be capturing the elusive but strikingly beautiful Aurora Borealis. We will also be capturing unique images of ice and winter, the breathtakingly beautiful and world-renowned mountains, colorful fjords, and pristine beaches, as well as the picturesque and authentic red Lofoten cabins. Photographic opportunities are present around every corner.

Kah-Wai is the organizer and operator of this tour.

Photos From Walking the River Thames
In August of 2022, my wife, Jennifer and I, along with our very good friends, Karl and Rina, spent two weeks walking the River Thames in England. We started at the headwaters and continued all the way to the Thames Barrier. The entire trek, including side trips, was about 200 miles and we walked 15-20 miles per day. I carried my camera and my phone and captured some images of the landscapes and lifestyles we encountered along the way.
After the trip, I wanted to share the photos with our friends and create some sort of physical keepsake of our adventure. I decided to use the Book module in Lightroom to design and publish a book through Blurb. I never intended the book for anyone other than the people who were on the trip, so there is almost no text. However, as a collection, I think the photos give a nice sense of the spirit of the river as it winds from forests and pastures into the urban crush of London. The book begins with scenic photos and ends with some behind-the-scenes pics of our lodging, food, and shenanigans. I have only printed two personal copies but Blurb has a viewing app that simulates the book on screen. I thought it would be fun to share the book virtually with anyone who might be interested.

Blurb won't let you share a book without listing it on their marketplace first, but know that I'm not selling the book (not that anyone else would want it, and Blurb books are silly-expensive anyway). My only intent is to share, and I think the viewer app is fun and more like looking through a book than simply posting images in a gallery.
If you would like to take a look, you can CLICK HERE. Best viewed on a computer...pretty small on a phone.

Thanks always for tuning in. Wishing you the best!
