We warmly invite you to join us for the 38th annual Rogue Valley observance this Saturday, August 6th at Thalden Pavilion on the Southern Oregon University campus, 155 Walker Avenue, across from Ashland Middle School. We cosponsor this event each year to commemorate, promote awareness, and inspire action to help eliminate nuclear weapons from our fragile planet. This new site was chosen this year because we will also dedicate SOU's Green Legacy Hiroshima Peace Tree, grown from the seed of a tree which survived the atomic bombing 77 years ago. Hear about this remarkable project initiated by OSDI, birthed at SOU, and spread throughout Oregon and across the U.S. Hideko, Estelle and Lucie will all be speaking. (It will be recorded and posted on our website.)
Note: Parking is limited at Thalden Pavilion. Please walk, bike, use public transport or carpool if possible. Additional parking behind ScienceWorks and along Campus Way.
In case of unhealthy air advisory in Ashland Saturday morning due to wildfire smoke, the in person event will be postponed. Check the Peace House website after 8 am Aug 6 if you want to confirm status.
Please see our flyer and news release
