Booksale and Call for Donations

If you are a regular shopper at the Ashland Friends of the Library book sale, you have probably noticed some changes since summer. The Friends are no longer holding “big book sales”. Storage and safety became problems in saving large book inventories for the big sales. To remedy the problems, the Friends have removed and sold the stored books.
Instead, we now have volunteers coming in six days a week (not Friday) to put out new book donations. We thank our daily volunteers Mary Coombs, Leslie Dawson, Elaine Yates, Joe Moeller, Kaki Shields and Nancy Quintanilla for straightening the sale area and refreshing the shelves and tables.
Book Donations Welcome!
Another change was the clearance of the book sale area to make room for the Friends of the Library annual silent auction. Books were sold by donation, and all of the books were cleared so that the silent auction volunteers could use the space for their items. During the silent auction we did not accept donations because storage was limited.
We are again accepting book donations. We appreciate newer books in good condition, and cannot accept worn, marked or damaged books or encyclopedias or dictionaries. Click here to see a complete list of tips for book donors. Thanks to all who shop and donate books to the book sale. They are a major fund-raiser for the Friends of the Library and all of the money raised goes toward library programs or projects.
