Get Involved with Ashland Parks and Recreation – Participate with the Recreation Division Advisory Committee
 
APRC wants to support members of the public providing input and helping grow recreation amenities that benefit all members of the community.  If you are interested in learning about the Recreation Division Advisory Committee (RDAC) and more ways to provide input on recreation in Ashland including programming, events and facilities we would like to connect with you!
 
Visit ashland.or.us/RDAC to learn more about what RDAC does and when meetings are held.  You can also learn more ways to provided your input to the committee and be involved in future projects.
 
RDAC is seeking new members to help improve APRC recreational amenities.  The application process for RDAC members is now open and will continue until positions are filled.
 
Interested applicants may visit ashland.or.us/RDAC for more information and to complete the APPLICATION. Hardcopy applications may be picked up at the following locations:
  • The Grove, 1195 E Main St (Mon, Wed, Fri; 9 a.m.-1 p.m.)

The purpose of RDAC is to advise Ashland Parks and Recreation Commissioners on matters related to the Recreation Division. The Recreation Division oversees the operations of the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink, Daniel Meyer Memorial Pool, North Mountain Park Nature Center, indoor and outdoor facility rentals, volunteer (VIP program), special events and general youth, adult and therapeutic recreation programs.
 
The committee is comprised of up of nine (9) members, seven (7) of which will be program participants or community partners. In addition, there will be two (2) Ashland Parks and Recreation Commissioners. RDAC member terms will be three (3) years, with no member serving more than two (2) consecutive terms.
 
Once 
RDAC members are appointed by Ashland Parks and Recreation Commissioners, they will attend bi-monthly meetings and work in collaboration with APRC staff on projects and efforts that will enhance quality of life and access to parks and recreation resources. RDAC may also choose to develop a strategic plan and revise their mission and vision statement concurrent with the adopted goals of the Commissioners.
