The Practise Of Surviving
Chella Foster
Solo Exhibition

Viral particles, gaseous chemical weapons, and wildfire smoke have contaminated our air for months. We have been forced into situations of survival to cope with this.

Pine pitch is a material that can be found easily. Pitch is capable of long term preservation, the waterproofing of other materials, medicinal care, use as a powerful incendiary, and can be meditative to collect and purify in small batches. It is a material that is ideal for survival.

Myers Memorial Gallery (Marion Ady):
Mother
Kaya Doolaege
Solo Exhibition

There is an importance in understanding relationships: how they are created, where they exist, and what they affect. Relationships whether natural or imposed are always present; they are present in space, location, and subject matter.

Mother explores the relationships between a subject and its environment, a subject and the artist, and a subject and its audience. Through ideas of intimacy, vulnerability, and tension, Mother creates an understanding of how, where, and what relationships exist.
