Opportunities for Housing, Resources, & Assistance (OHRA) is a human service hub providing programs and services to unhoused and low-income people living in Jackson County. OHRA has been helping people move from crisis to stability since 2014.
OHRA’s programs and services work towards preventing and ending homelessness. OHRA provides Jackson County’s only walk-in resource center, a 6-month emergency shelter, laundry/shower services, emergency response programs, and so much more.
The key to OHRA’s success is the team of Resource Navigators who create long-lasting and trusting relationships with the guests we serve.
Poverty has as many faces as the people who experience it. While many of OHRA’s guests are homeless, a large proportion are housed but facing serious economic stress. OHRA serves the most vulnerable in the community including children, seniors, and people with disabilities.
The symbiotic relationship between OHRA’s Resource Center and Shelter allows OHRA to serve currently housed people and continue to work with people long-term when they move from homelessness to housing.
For people who are unhoused and/or who have substantial barriers to a good quality of life, we work with partner agencies to provide access to basic necessities. OHRA helps people transition into permanent housing and self-reliance.
For individuals who are economically stressed but have more stable situations, OHRA provides help finding employment, housing, and other resources to prevent homelessness.
