Our Story Begins In Bangkok, Thailand. Mam (pronounced Mem by Thai people) was born and raised in Bangkok.
Inspired by an uncle, she was naturally attracted to cooking and eventually, one thing leading to another, owned her own restaurant there until 2009.
That year her sister, living in Berkeley, California asked her for help with operating the family restaurant, Jasmine Thai, located in the Northside neighborhood bordering U.C. Berkeley.
Then in 2016, Mam married Peter and desiring a change, transferred to The Butcher's Son, a sensational Berkeley vegan delicatessen where she founded 'YES MAM!, a pop-up featuring veganized versions of her favorite Thai dishes. She was widely respected there and considered by the owners to be an employee of the month, every month, and a true 'bad ass' in the kitchen.
Because of Peter's desire to move to Ashland and her desire to operate her own restaurant again, Mam is proud to bring you 'Mam's Happy Thai Express'.
