Musica Matrix is Ashland’s newest 501.c3 Organization, headed by founding director and former OSF performer and music director Pat O’Scannell. The group’s goal is Bringing History to Life Through Music! by preserving, promoting and performing Renaissance and Medieval Music in Southern Oregon.

Musical Matrix will achieve its goals through educational programs in which staff will create taylor-made programs for individual schools, that work with existing orchestras, bands, choirs and any other programs using current curiculum as a conduit for study. MM will also support a number of community ensembles such as More Fools Than Wise madrigal group, Ensemble Fontegara Renaissance Recorders, Gothic Voices Medieval Choir, The Rogue Consort of Viols, and the new Duo Jetté, bass viols.

The third facet of the organization will be an annual concert cycle that is fed by both community ensembles, and world class groups and players from outside the area presenting workshops as well to benefit our local enthusiasts.
