Welcome to Temple Emek Shalom from Rabbi Boettiger

Our name, Temple Emek Shalom, or Kehillat Emek Shalom, can be translated as Temple in the Valley of Peace, and on another level as Congregation of Profound Wholeness. We strive to be a welcoming and joy-filled community.

Temple Emek Shalom (TES) was established in 1973. Our growing congregation serves a wide spectrum of people, youth to elders, singles and families, people from Northern California and from other parts of Southern Oregon, in addition to people in the Rogue Valley.

Adult Education, Family Education and Religious School on Sundays for our children all have a high priority at TES, and we offer a variety of classes in Jewish culture and values, as well as basic, conversational and prayer book Hebrew. Experiential learning is practiced and particularly valued.

Our prayer services reflect our diversity. They are innovative and at the same time evoke the essence of our Jewish tradition. Congregants are actively involved in social action projects in service to our wider community and the world.

I encourage you to contact us for a tour and further introduction to Temple Emek Shalom. You are welcome to join us for services and other activities. Please be sure to introduce yourself. I look forward to meeting you.

B’shalom,

Rabbi Boettiger
