Klamath Bird Observatory (KBO) advances bird and habitat conservation through science, education, and partnerships. KBO focuses its efforts in the Klamath-Siskiyou Bioregion of southern Oregon and northern California. Conducting scientific studies to monitor and inventory bird populations, KBO supports international efforts to keep common birds common. We work with land managers, aiding them in utilizing scientific information to address management and conservation challenges. We reach out to the communities and schools of the bioregion, connecting people with science and conservation. KBO expands the effectiveness and scope of its science and education programs through collaboration with an array of partners.
KBO is headquartered at the Willow Wind Community Learning Center in Ashland, Oregon. KBO recently opened its second office at Jefferson Nature Center in Medford, Oregon. These sites serve as ecological monitoring stations and educational facilities as do numerous other sites in the bioregion and beyond—such as Tortuguero, Costa Rica. To learn more about KBO, visit www.KlamathBird.org or call (541) 201-0866.
On Friday, September 19, 2008, KBO will celebrate eight years of bird and habitat conservation successes at its Wings and Wine Gala.
