The School of Business also offers seven certificate programs to serve the region, three of which can be completed without the need for a bachelor’s degree (Management of Human Resources, Nonprofit Management and Wine Business). The most recent addition is the Certificate in Wine Business. The Wine Business certification provides students with the opportunity to learn many aspects of the wine business from the processes to make, bottle, and sell wine, to sensory evaluation techniques and communication about wine. Students learn business principles to effectively market and promote wine, along with learning management, accounting, and other related skills.
The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Public Accounting is a unique certificate program suitable for students with a bachelor’s degree in almost any field who wish to prepare for a certification examination in accounting such as the CPA or CMA, and government and industrial accounting. The certificate may be completed face to face on the Ashland campus or completely online.
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) provides students from a wide range of disciplines with a broad knowledge base in all of the major functions of a business. The curriculum develops managerial skill sets, together with the critical topics of leadership, teamwork, ethics, and effective communication, which are embedded into the program. SOU’s MBA program features a highly interactive and practical approach to learning. Students may elect to pursue the degree through a full-time evening program in Ashland or an online program.
