The Ashland Chamber's 4th of July Parade and festivities are right around the corner. The 2022 Parade Theme is “Ashland Cares!”, recognizing our incredible medical community, especially the front line medical staff, who cared for and continue to care for our entire community during the tumultuous and uncertain pandemic, sometimes risking their own health and safety for others. The community of Ashland is immensely grateful for their service.
The Ashland Chamber is honored to bring back this annual celebration which includes the 4th of July Run starting at 7:45am, organized by the Ashland Parks & Recreation in the morning, followed by our beloved Parade that begins at 10am and during the parade will be the USAF jet flyover. The Parade will be livestreamed on this website.
After the parade concludes, folks can enjoy entertainment at the Lithia Park Bandshell from Noon - 4pm. As the Chamber brings back this community event this year, the park festivities will be focused on the Lithia Park Bandshell where bands including the Ashland City Band, Lynx Family Band and Danny Sherrill's Band perform all afternoon with Emcee Daniel Perry Walkup. Kicking off the afternoon will be the reading of the Declaration of Independence by Barry Kraft with the Ashland City Band (part 1) followed by a Welcome Address from Mayor Julie Akins and the Gettysburg Address by Bob Jackson Miner as Abraham Lincoln. Adjacent to the Bandshell enjoy non-profit food vendors. Families can also enjoy activities at the entrance to Lithia Park including a Family Fun Zone sponsored by Rogue Community Health.
"Our hope is with this scaled back version of the park that everyone enjoys the space provided following the parade to enjoy the fun and entertainment", says Katharine Cato of the Ashland Chamber.
While the Ashland Chamber is unable to hold an evening fireworks show, therefore there will not be fireworks this year, you are invited to attend the American Band College "Ashland Pops Show" that will be performed at Ashland High School Football Stadium at 7:30pm. Featuring guest soloist, Harry Watters and the 175-member ABC Band. For the link to buy tickets to the ABC concert at www.bandworld.org.
