Ashland, Oregon- The Paddington Family of Stores is proud to announce that they have won the Retailer Excellence Award in the Socially Responsible Retailer category.
Hosted by Gifts & Decorative Accessories Magazine, the Retailer Excellence Awards honors leaders in the gift and retail industry. Categories include: Store Events, Store Design/Redesign. Specialty Stores and Socially Responsible Retailer. The awards ceremony took place on August 11 at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City.
General Manager and Jewel Box Manager, Joe and Sansa Collins represented the company at the awards ceremony. They accepted the award on behalf of the owners, Pam Hammond and Kelly Jean Cooney.
Co-Owner, Kelly Jean Cooney stated "This award represents our dedication to our community, our industry, and our planet. We are honored to be setting the standard in green and socially conscious retail!" Since the Hammond family purchased the flagship store, Paddington Station in 1992, 2% of all preferred customer sales are donated to the community; the lifetime dollars donated equates to over $250,000. In the final quarter of 2018, co- owner Don Hammond spearheaded the installation of solar panels, which is already producing enough power to meet the store's energy output. The store also takes great measures to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Our vision for a better retail world doesn’t stop here, either. Stay tuned, because Paddington will be giving back in a big way this holiday season with the Gift of Giving Pop-Up store in our The Paddington Express location.
