25,000 meals served with love and compassion
25,000 meals served with love and compassion in action. The community kitchen requests your support.
For the past three years we've steadily worked at making a difference in hunger in our community. The Ashland Community Peace Meal program exists to ensure that there's a hot meal every day of the week for anyone in need. These meals help to provide a sense of stability and a place where trust can grow. Now we need your help.
Recently we found a building in Ashland that we are turning into a community kitchen, a place where people can come together to create nutritious and healing food. This is also a facility where people will learn about food prep and serving skills for local food handling jobs. What it does not have are sinks. Rather than trying to build the plumbing infrastructure, we can go portable. We need to invest in a three sink portable unit as well as a portable hand washing sink.
We are seeking financial support from our community. This also demonstrates that we have your support and that the work we are doing is something you see value in. Several foundations have suggested that we need to show this financial support. The following are the most immediate financial needs: Portable triple sink and hand washing sink $3,000, and rent at $910 for 12 months = $10,920.
