Art Salon Features Local Artists at the Ashland Library
Ashland, Oregon (September 11, 2018) — Local artists discuss the evolution of their art over the years and present digital photos of their work at a monthly Art Salon held on the last Sunday of every month at 2 p.m. at the Ashland Library, 410 Siskiyou Boulevard.
Sunday, September 30: Art Salon will feature tattoo artist Mori Samuel-Garloff. Mori loves body art, the commitment, and catalyst for healing that magically happens with the empowering experience of claiming one’s body, sometimes for the very first time. Mori bridges life's moments with personal and permanent expression while making her clients’ vision a reality. Mori has been in business as Mori Ink since 1998.
Sunday, October 28: Art Salon will feature still life, floral and figurative paintings by Michael Lynn Adams. Adams' luminous oil paintings reflect his deep appreciation for beauty and simplicity found in everyday life. His award-winning paintings have been exhibited in numerous international and national shows including, Salon International, Oil Painters of America National, and California Art Club Gold Medal exhibitions; and are in private and museum collections across the United States. In 2012 Adams co-founded The Representational Art Conference (TRAC), the premier international conference focused on the philosophical foundations of contemporary representational art.
Sunday, November 25: Art Salon will feature the work of Gabriel Mark Lipper. Lipper’s paintings explore themes of energy, wealth, and ambition. His paintings ask open-ended questions about the viewers’ relationship to the painted narratives. An emphasis on technique and application of paint serve as a classical anchor for his otherwise often disconnected contemporary subjects. This dualism is borne out of a fixation with craftsmanship and an exploratory fascination with the zealous excesses of the new millennium. Drawing on influences as diverse as Tolstoy, Fellini, and Eazy-E, Lipper continues his focused inquiry into our sociocultural evolution.
The Art Salon is sponsored by the Friends of the Ashland Public Library. For more information please call the Ashland Library at 541-774-6996.
