Chamber Music Concerts Presents the Gryphon Trio with Patricia O’Callaghan, soprano
Chamber Music Concerts (CMC) presents the Gryphon Trio — violin, cello, and piano — with
soprano Patricia OfCallaghan on Friday, April 13 at 7:30pm in a program entitled gBroken
Hearts and Madmen.h The concert features Latin and jazz-influenced songs, including
music by Astor Piazzola, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, and Jelly Roll Morton. The Gryphon
Trio will present a separate concert of their own on Saturday, April 14 at 3pm, which will
feature works by Beethoven, Wijeratne, and Mendelssohn. Both concerts will take place at
the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall. Tickets are $33/$38, with a special
price of only $5 for full-time students and Oregon Trail Card holders. To purchase tickets,

In addition to the concerts, the trio and Patricia will present a free preview/lecture at
12:30pm on Friday, April 13 at the SOU Music Recital Hall, which is open to the public.

highly refined, dynamic performances. The Trio tours regularly throughout North America
and Europe and their 17 recordings are an encyclopedia of works for the genre. Honors

Patricia OfCallaghanfs 15-year career has taken her across a range of genres and passions.
She has sung with some of the worldfs finest ensembles and artists (Orpheus Chamber
Orchestra, Don Byron Quartet, Bryn Terfel), and has performed in venues that range from
Londonfs Royal Opera House to Le Poisson Rouge in New York. Patriciafs credits include
her own Bravo! special, the CBC series Foolish Heart, and the film Youkali Hotel, for which
she was given a Golden Sheaf Award for best female performance. gIn short, a stunning
