Programs
Dedicated to advancing the welfare and prosperity of our members, the Ashland Chamber tailors our programs to benefit the needs of our members as they evolve.
Since the business community is vital to the health of the overall community, programs run from specific committees, such as business development and economic sustainability, to hosting legislative forums in election years, to community issues forums on subjects that affect the entire community.
Tourism – The Ashland Chamber formed the Visitor & Convention Bureau in 1982 with a small grant from the City and a stalwart group of business members. The programs and events have grown substantially over the years resulting in strong industry relationships, business growth through the seasons and a respect of the tourism industry and its impact on the city. Tourism is promoted year-round with a primary emphasis in the fall, winter and spring seasons through marketing campaigns and special events and festivals. Hundreds of community members volunteer their time to provide information services and to plan and coordinate marketing programs and events.
Economic development is provided by the Chamber through relocation services, point-of-contact management information services, educational trainings, marketing, Rapid Response Team to inquiries and coordination with economic development agencies.
The website www.ashlandchamber.com provides both visitor and economic development information including video interviews and event profiles as well as workshops, real estate, community events and educational, health care and business resources.
Educational workshops and conferences are conducted throughout the year on topics such as global business, marketing, retail, visitor demographics and labor force issues among others. Recognition of our community leaders is done annually celebrating their generous contributions.
4th of July is the oldest and largest event in Ashland’s history. Conducted by the Chamber with hundreds of volunteers, the event exemplifies the spirit of community in Ashland.
Festival of Light celebrates the magic of the season with over a million lights from Thanksgiving to New Years and includes numerous seasonal events showcasing the charm and delight of shopping, dining and staying in a small picturesque town for the holidays.
Networking through Greeters and Ambassadors provides weekly support, promotion and fun for business members including ribbon cuttings and grand openings.
