The Ashland Daily Tidings is Southern Oregon's oldest newspaper, first
publishing in 1876. It serves readers in Ashland, Talent, Phoenix and
Medford, and recently established an online presence at
www.dailytidings.com.
The Tidings is an award winning newspaper with an editorial staff of 10
and more than 40 fulltime employees in production, design, advertising
and administration.
The Tidings' stated mission is to be the primary news and information
source for southern Jackson County. Its reporting and editing staff
works hard to be the eyes of ears of its readers, to defend the public's
right to know, and to provide a forum for community comment. It strives
to serve as a conduit for information, entertainment and advertising
that is useful to the communities it serves, and to be an advocate on
behalf of worthwhile community endeavors. It has a circulation of about
5,500 and publishes six days a week, Monday through Saturday.
The Tidings is a part of the Pacific Northwest Publishing Group, which
is part of Lee Enterprises, a publicly held media company based in
Davenport, Iowa. Other Oregon holdings include the Albany
Democrat-Herald, Mid-Valley Sunday, Corvallis Gazette-Times, Newport
News-Times, Springfield News, Sandy Post, Lebanon Express, Gresham
Outlook and a number of Nickel and other specialty publications.
