Comment made by many AAH members: “The volunteer who came to our home to help us felt like a member of the family almost immediately!”
Ashland At Home (AAH) is a membership organization, one of over 200 “Villages” across the country whose mission is to help its members live independently in their own homes for as long as possible. AAH volunteers provide episodic services to members – the type of services you might ask a good friend or neighbor to do for you. These include: transportation in Ashland and Talent, and to the airport or to medical appointments in Medford; personal services (e.g. friendly visits, pet care or occasional meal preparation); household support (handyman chores, house checks while on vacation); and, technical and home office support (assistance with popular software programs, programming cell phones or other devices, assistance with office or bill organization). Educational programs, special interest groups, periodical outings such as outings to Klamath Basin for the annual migration of the eagles (in the photo above), and casual social events round out the offerings and provide opportunities to meet people and share interests and experiences.
