Designated a “Quality Based Mentoring Program” of Oregon Mentors, 2013.
Testimonials: “I really like the Rose Circle because it gives us a chance to talk and express ourselves with the people at school. It’s helpful being a hormonal girl to be able to talk to people who I feel like I can trust.”  School Circle participant
For over a decade Rogue Valley Mentoring has served youth in Jackson County.  What started as a small group of women has grown into an organization of men and women who are deeply committed to our area youth.  By providing a safe space for youth to be seen, heard and understood by peers and mentors we strengthen self-esteem, confidence and ability to express oneself in ways that empower.

We currently carry out our mission, “transforming entire communities through the mentoring of youth ”, in three ways:

1)    High quality mentor training and screening including full background check
2)    One-to-One mentor matches with youth and trained Rogue Valley Mentoring mentors
3)    Group, circle mentoring with up to 8 youth and trained mentors

Over the years we have served thousands of youth and trained hundreds of mentors. We partner with local agencies, schools and organizations such as Armadillo Technical Institute, Ashland High School, Boys and Girls Clubs, Central Medford High, Options, Talent Middle School, Children’s Advocacy Center and more.  We rely on grant funding, generous donations from community supporters, board giving, fundraisers and tax-deductible business gifts to continue to support local youth aged 10 - 24.

The impact of Rogue Valley Mentoring is best shared with the voices of those who participate in our programs.

“My experience co-facilitating circles for boys gives me the opportunity to support youth, many of whom come from single parent families, in a meaningful way. We premise the circles by creating a container where boys can learn to listen to and support each other based on confidentiality, freedom to share whatever is on their mind (or going on at home) and by suspending judgment so they are not afraid to share. Because of this the boys are willing to share deep, personal stuff that they cannot talk about anywhere else including home and school. These circles give them an opportunity to relate to each other more authentically and carry that authenticity into their lives.”  ~ RV Mentoring Trained Mentor

“When I decided to get a mentor I wasn’t sure what to expect. I found that not only did I have a mentor but I have a best friend, too.” ~ Youth participant one-to-one mentoring

“Rose Circle really helps me express my thoughts and feelings on a deeper level. It has helped me grow to trust the people in the circle and connect with my peers. Having the option to do RV Mentoring during school is very amazing and I really appreciate the time our facilitators take out of their day to help us out. I love the Rogue Valley Mentoring.” ~ Youth participant of circle held at partnering school
