THE JAZZ MEN group is a 17 piece Big Band Jazz Ensemble that consists of Ashland and Medford area Jazz musicians. We feature many talented soloists and a vocalist of professionally quality. We perform and function as a support and service to the community and surrounding area in many different venues. Among them are community Affairs, Fund Raising and Benefit Dances, Holiday Celebrations, Business and Club Functions, Concert Appearances, Weddings/Parties and Ballroom Dances. Our style would be appropriate for the type of venue being performed. People enjoy listening to us because we help them re-live the swing era and the big band classics. This includes music from the Flapper era, the 30's and 40's, with dance music and arrangements that include the more contemporary jazz and swing arrangements. These jazz arrangements are derived from the library's of the famous Big Bands, i.e., Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Count Basie, Les Brown, Duke Ellington, and the famous arrangers, i.e., Sammy Nestico, Dave Wolpe, and Ernie Wilkens.
Since THE JAZZ MEN is a new Band that was organized in February of 2011, we are completing our website that presently can be found on Google at firstname.lastname@example.org/TheJazzMen. We do have sample CD's and Video DVD from our recent performance at the Medford Armory. We are also honored to be active members of the Talent Chamber of Commerce and the Ashland Chamber of Commerce, whom we have performed for at some of their sponsored activities.
We are a turn-key operation utilizing our own sound system, colorful front stands, and attractive uniform attire. Although our preference is with the Big Band 17 piece instrumentation for performances, our flexibility and versatility of our library and musicians lies in the ability to present any different size combination of 1 to 17 musicians depending on the needs of our clients.
Any group, organization, or individual that would have an interest in employing THE JAZZ MEN for their type of venue listed above, are encouraged to contact Ray Holtz, Jazz director at (319) 240-9090 in Ashland. by e-mail at email@example.com, any of THE JAZZ MEN musicians, the Ashland Chamber of Commerce at (541) 482-3486, or the Talent Chamber of Commerce at (541) 535-3837.
